week of March 8

We continue on through the 6 days of each week in Lent. Here's the podcast intro for next Sunday, March 15.

David Loar will be at Angel Falls Coffee in Highland Square (on West Market Street) Tuesday night 5:30-7:00 pm. Drop by for conversation with him and any others who happen to stop by.

A gathering on the Wednesdays in Lent will be at 7:00 pm in the Vista Room. The theme this Wednesday is fasting as a spiritual discipline.

The Bible Reading & Reflection gathering is Thursday morning, 9:00 am at the Summit Mall food court. We are reading through the Psalms. It is a time of good community and listening to scripture as it was originally intended.

The Thursday Small Group gathers in the parlor at 6:30 pm. We are open to visitors. Presently we are watching dvd's from the "nooma" series hosted by Rob Bell. Great stuff on your personal journey and serving God in the world.

Fridays David is at the Nervous Dog Coffee Bar at 1530 W Market Street on the east end of the Wallhaven neighborhood (across the street from where Harcourt ends at Market Street) 1:30 to 4:00 pm. Drop by for conversation. Last week we had five folks show up, four dealing with recent or impending unemployment.

The Taize worship service of prayer, song, meditation and scripture is at 6:00 pm in the parlor.

Sunday morning are two worship services. At 9:30 am the worship service uses more contemporary music and video projected images. At 11:15 am the worship service uses an ancient, traditional liturgy.

Our Congregational Annual Meeting is Sunday, March 22 at 10:45 am. The 11:15 worship service will not happen that day.
