3 Way Test

Starting last Sunday, we are focusing on the passage from Micah 6:8 to establish benchmarks in evaluating our life as a church and the groups that make up the church.
But he's already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don't take yourself too seriously-
take God seriously.
Using another version of this passage we have established the "3 Way Test" bookmarks that are available in our lobbies:
Do justice
Love kindness
Walk humbly with God

This past Sunday we focused on "doing justice" using the following quote as a center piece - "The struggle to feel good replaced (in the church) the struggle to do good and silenced the prophetic voice against injustice and for the poor." (Steven Kepnes) Instead of being good or working to become good (Jesus said only our Father in heaven is good), we are simply to DO good.

This coming Sunday we will focus on "Love kindness" and what it means to be a community that is centered by faith in God. The following Sunday we will focus on "walk humbly with God" as we are spiritually centered on God.
