week of Feb 22

We've got a big week coming up!

Sunday, February 22 starting at 2:00 pm we are hosting the "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" fund raiser for Interfaith Hospitality Network of Summit County. IHN is a coalition of Christian and Jewish congregations who offer their facilities on a rotating basis for homeless families to be able to stay together. We will be walking along Market Street to the Starbucks at Sand Run Road and then around the park in front of Resnick School. Hope it snows! The worse the weather the better. We do this not just to raise money to also witness to the community of the needs of homeless families especially when the weather is cold and snowy like it is this week.

Ash Wednesday worship service, entering into the 40 days of the Christian season of Lent. The service is this Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.

Sunday, March 1 we are starting a new worship service on Sunday morning at 11:15 am in the sanctuary. It will be 45 minutes long. It will follow a historic liturgy out of the ancient Church and Reformed Church tradition. Lots of questions have been asked if it will be like the former "traditional" service that we had up to 4-5 years ago. Yes and no. It will be more of the historic tradition of the Church and more interactive as liturgy is intended to be.

The Taize worship service on Fridays will shift to 6:00 pm starting on Friday, February 27.

In the evening of Sunday, March 1 we are having a potluck supper in the Fellowship Hall and then will go to the sanctuary to watch the movie "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" from C.S. Lewis' book series "The Chronicles of Narnia." Great for children too.
