in the footsteps of Jesus

Some of us have heard various stories floating around among some folks in the
community that our church has gone off the wall. That we have become holy
rollers. That we are fundamentalist now and so on. We have become for these
folks a codependent addict's dream or truly their stash or drug of choice to
obsess over.

Well, one of my daughters had a young man approach her asking if it was
really true that our church had homeless families stay overnight in our
building and that I as the minister let criminals into the building. She
said he was more in disbelief than disagreeable. But the person who had told
these things to this young man in the first place was being critical of our
church.

Folks, our reputation is finally where it should be. Like our Savior, we are
known (and ridiculed by some) in our community for associating with the
unacceptable and with notorious sinners. Praise God!
