Holy Week '05

This Sunday is Palm Sunday. We will be hearing Matthew 21:1-11 and wondering why we make such a ballyhoo about this day, but Jesus really plays the role of "counter hero" with his entrance into Jerusalem. 9:30 a.m.

The labyrinth will be available from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for all who wish to spend time prayer and discernment.

Maundy ("commandment") Thursday service at 7:00 p.m. and Good Friday with Tenebrae at 7:30 p.m.
The theme for Maundy Thursday comes from John 13:33-35. The "Golden Rule" is to love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus gives all his disciples a new commandment at the Last Supper "to love one another as I have loved you." Then he washes their feet as a way to indicate the humility and servanthood he is referring to in this new commandment.
