backwards and forwards

Today's first worship service back in the sanctuary with one service was powerful. Many people were moved by the presence of God. It was a lot of ingredients that led to that. Most of all...the Holy Spirit.

What's up this week? David Loar and Kate Walsh from our place are gone to Seattle to learn and experience more of the church. You can learn more from David's blog. Christina Kukuk will be the "visionary" in next Sunday worship service. She is a senior at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary preparing for ordained ministry (and the wife of our music director Adam Kukuk.) The Subversive Singers are rehearsing on Thursday at 6:55 p.m. on Thursday. These folks sure can sing, they have lots of fun, and it was clear this morning that their "subersiveness" (being spread around the congregation) enhanced all of us in our singing. Also, their obligato during our singing during communion carried God's spirit all through and around us.

The last of the pews will be removed this week. We will leave two pews in the back north portion of the sanctuary.

Celebrate Recovery gathers Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. We could all use a dose of this.

Our hiking group will meet in our parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. We will be planning some weekend hikes this spring.

Comments:
I had goosebumps through most of the service today! It was absolutely thrilling and when Adam checked with us to see if we knew who we were applauding after the first song, it was obvious, we were applauding our Lord for bringing us together with such vibrant spirit and giving us voices to sign and eyes to read and hearts to feel and minds to know that everything that we felt today was because of Him. It was so amazing! I've had many memorable worship experiences in my time here so far as a member of ChristStream, but today was a turning point, something fresh, new and exhilariting. I felt blessed to be there, to see Lynn there, to be in company with my family in Christ and I pray that those who are steadfast in their mission will see the good that came from today and feel the wonder and spirit that so many of us felt today, it was truly the power of the Holy Spirit!

I'd also like to add an announcement that I'd invite anyone reading this to please join us after worship next week to walk our prayer labyrinth, which will be available from 1-5 p.m!
